Many people go through their lives on an autopilot. Go on a different road where there is a less crowd to discover your strengths and live happier. You cannot find yourself if you are surrounded with too many distractions in the world we live in.
You have to slow down and take the time to assess yourself.
How to Discover Your Strength?
There are 3 key things to help you discover your strength and unlock your truest potential. Your strength has always been inside of you, waiting for you to use it and leverage on it.
As you embark on this journey in finding your strength, you must raise your self-awareness because this alerts your mind on what truly matters.
Surround yourself with good energy and positive people in your life to get you encouraged and stay on course. Keep a journal handy where you can write down your thoughts and whatever that pops on your mind, then take inspired action!
When you feel that you have to do something or a nudge to take action, do it. Discovering your strength is a process. Be patient with yourself.
1. Find Your Successes.
Look back on your life and find your successes. Go back to your past successes in your childhood up to this date. List them down.
This exercise is so important because it will give you a record of the facts of the successes and achievements you have had in different stages of your life. Pay attention to the pattern that will unfold.
If you need help in remembering your past achievements, ask your parents and the people who knew you back then when you were really young.
It doesn’t matter how big or small your success was. Success is success. You will notice as you go through your success list, it will boost your motivation and energy. You will remember the time and the emotion you have felt during your wins.
Take the time to absorb the things in your list. You will be amazed at how much you have achieved over these years! You are a winner.
To help you identify the similarities and common ground in your successes, try doing this:
- Read them to yourself and see which are the ones that jump at you the most or the one that gets your attention more than the others in the list.
- Set a time to reflect on your success. You will feel good about yourself and this will give you a positive boost.
2. Focus On What You Are Good At.
Work out what you are good at. How to know what you are good at?
The most natural way to find out is to know the answer to these two things:
- What makes you really, really, really happy?
- What gives you energy naturally?
Ask these questions to yourself every day and write your answers down. Give yourself at least 30 days until you get clarity in your answers.
You can discover your strength more as you get to know yourself more and more. If you really want to excel and succeed more, you must do more of what makes you happy.
People who are successful love what they do. Work and life are connected for successful people, it is part of who they are.
Declutter your mind to get you laser focus on what you are good at. Pay attention to the things that drain your energy and move away from it or get someone else to do it for you. You can’t spend your time (your life) on disempowering things.
Get yourself in alignment to your strength and delegate the rest to those who can do it better than you. Focus on the area you excel.
3. Exercise Brain Power.
Give your brain a boost to exercise your brain power. The brain can do wonders once it is alerted to what you are trying to achieve and focus on.
Your brain has the record of everything about you. Activate the genius part of your brain to help you discover your strength. Get mental stimulation and strengthen your mind.
Do some brain training exercises to boost your brain power. Everything in the body is connected. When you are physically and mentally fit, you have the energy you need.
Mental clarity gives way to self-awareness in getting to know your strength. You will have the power to think and make the right decisions.
How to increase your brain power? Improve your cognitive skills – your concentration, focus, memory, and mental agility to stay sharp.
If you need to, change your mindset and achieve success in what you are focusing on.
Learning must be a continuous process in your life. Constant improvements are happening in our society today and it is important to keep up in obtaining knowledge to get ahead.
Immerse yourself in learning and evolve to the person you want to become. Discovering your strength requires mental energy and stimulation.
Take Stress Away.
Good things take away stress. Stress drains our energy and depletes the health of the body.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. Give yourself time to know what you are really good at. Get to know yourself by not beating up and stressing yourself out. Enjoy the process.
A stressed mind is not helping you move forward. Relax your body and mind to take the pressure off yourself. You must think clearly and put your energy on finding your strength without negativity and anxiety.
If you have to motivate yourself to get going, just do it. Give yourself a dopamine boost to feel good in the process.
Experiment on the routine that works for you best to keep your moving forward – anything that can boost your energy! Take a break if you must.
Your strength is all inside you all this time. Believe you can find it by working on yourself everyday regardless of your circumstances. Stay committed.
